I grew up in Miami, Florida. In 1983 I moved to Richmond and quickly
became a fixture in the thriving "alternative" music scene. I have scored cartoons on MTV, as well as an independent feature film. I have written cartoon scripts and designed children's video games.

As most of my artistic endeavors seemed to be mainly connected with kids, I got my BFA in art education from VCU and became an art teacher for Richmond Public Schools. It was during this time that I developed the ideas which would later become the foundation for DJ Soul Racketeer. I did that for five years and also worked summers teaching art to children at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

I am currently an elementary school Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for RPS. Creating children's media including music, books, film and television is my passion, and, I believe, my calling!
